There are bands who play music — and then there are bands who carve their initials into the long corridor of metal history with the patience of craftsmen and the fire of outlaws. Royal Hunt, Denmark’s immortal progressive/power metal collective, has always belonged to the latter. Since 1989, they’ve been walking that razor’s edge where symphonic drama meets melodic steel, leaving audiences spellbound from Tokyo to Madrid, from festival fields to the quiet corners where memories echo louder than amplifiers.
Now, the Hunt returns with something forged in dusk and longing:
“Ride into the Sunset”, the new single from their EP Behind the Curtain — a track once destined to close the Dystopia saga, and now finally stepping into the late-day sun it deserves.
A Song Left Behind the Door — Until Now
“Ride into the Sunset” was never meant to wait.
It was crafted as the cinematic final breath of Dystopia, Pt. 2 — a Western-shaded epilogue for a soul too bruised to stay and too proud to fall. A man standing at the edge of his story, watching the sky bleed gold over a horizon that promises nothing but silence… yet still calling him forward.
But fate had other ideas.
For nearly two years, the song lingered in the wings, patient as a lone rider at the border of night.
Now, the curtain finally rises.
The official lyric video — stark, visual, charged with the dust and fire of its narrative — amplifies every layer of the track: the tension, the disillusionment, the urge to break free. It is Royal Hunt at their most cinematic, their most human.

Behind the Curtain — More Than an EP, A Testament
This release is not just another chapter.
It is a pact — forged between the band and a global community that refused to let the music fade.
The Behind the Curtain EP exists because fans demanded it into existence. Their backing during the crowdfunding campaign transformed sketches into symphonies and ideas into release-ready steel.
As the band said:
“This release wouldn’t have happened without you… Get ready to hear it loud and proud!”
And loud it is.

Ride On
“Ride into the Sunset” is more than a single.
It is the sound of a door closing softly, and a horizon opening wide.
A reminder that some stories end not in darkness, but in the kind of twilight that reshapes a man — and maybe the listener too.
Royal Hunt rides again.
And the sun has never looked so sharp.
