There are albums that borrow from tradition, and then there are albums that answer it. With Human Herds, Mongolian rock collective UUHAI do the latter, transforming centuries-old throat singing, horsehead fiddles and ritual chants into a powerful modern rock statement. The band’s debut album arrives on January 9, 2026 via Napalm Records.

Following early singles that amassed millions of views, Human Herds expands UUHAI’s vision into a sweeping, full-length journey through Mongolia’s landscapes, history and spiritual memory. Performed entirely in Mongolian, the album reflects on humanity’s fractured relationship with nature: not as a lecture, but as a reminder carried by rhythm, repetition and communal voice.

The record opens like a horizon appearing through mist, before the title track “Human Herds” charges forward with galloping energy and ancestral calls. It invokes forefathers, mourns a wounded Mother Earth, and sets the album’s core theme: connection, lost, remembered, and urgently needed. “Uuhai” follows with snarling intensity, its battle cries rooted in Mongolia’s past, while “Khar Khulz” conjures vivid imagery of wide skies and open land, balancing intimacy with mass-chant momentum.

Closing track “Secret History Of The Mongols” — named after the oldest surviving literary work in the Mongolic language — feels like a ritual rather than a finale, blending emotional guitar lines with haunting chants that gesture toward continuity rather than closure.

Human Herds is not built on novelty. Its power lies in sincerity — in the way UUHAI treat tradition not as decoration, but as living breath. This debut is a reverent invitation into Mongolia’s heart, carrying a simple but resonant message: beneath language, borders and eras, we all belong to the same ground.
