Finnish melodic death metal stalwarts Omnium Gatherum have released a surprise new single, “Moongold,” adding a high-energy extra chapter to the acclaimed May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way era.

Originally written during the album sessions and previously available only as a Japan-exclusive track, “Moongold” now emerges as a standalone melodic death metal anthem—fast, stripped back, and built with the live stage firmly in mind. Vocalist Jukka Pelkonen describes it as one of his favorite tracks from the sessions, while guitarist Markus Vanhala calls it “pure Omnium Gatherum,” with a slightly old-school edge.

The release lands just as the band prepare to kick off their European tour on February 11, joined by Fallujah and In Mourning. As Omnium Gatherum enter their 30th anniversary year, the message is clear: the engine is running hot, the calendar is full, and the road is calling.
