Pennsylvania-born modern metal outfit From Ashes To New continue their steady rise with the announcement of their upcoming studio album “Reflections,” set for release on April 17 via Better Noise Music. Alongside the news, the band have unveiled a new single, “Villain,” released together with an official music video.
Known for blending modern metal with heavy electronic elements and rap-infused vocals, From Ashes To New have built a strong and loyal following over recent years. “Villain” offers a darker, more introspective angle, flipping the usual narrative of toxic relationships by telling the story from the perspective of those who knowingly embrace the danger.
Vocalist Matt Brandyberry explains that the track explores the magnetic pull between two people who recognize the risks but choose chaos anyway: less about saving each other, and more about surrendering to a hidden, darker side of oneself.
“Reflections” follows the band’s 2023 album “Blackout”, which achieved strong chart success and was later expanded with a deluxe edition. The upcoming record features 12 tracks and includes previously released singles “New Disease,” a critique of blind trend-following, and “Drag Me,” an intense and brooding cut that further expanded the album’s emotional range.
With “Reflections“, From Ashes To New aim to sharpen their sound and deepen their lyrical focus—delivering a release that reflects both their growth and their willingness to confront the darker corners of human connection.
