A new free streaming channel dedicated entirely to rock and metal music has launched across Europe, aiming to revive the shared music television experience once offered by channels like MTV. Metal.Rocks, founded by music industry veterans, is now available in Finland and can be accessed through several Smart TV platforms, including Samsung TV Plus, Rakuten TV, Waipu, Plex, and Pluto TV.

Following its successful launch last year, Metal.Rocks is expanding in partnership with UCM.ONE and PLAION PICTURES, bringing the channel to 16 European countries as well as Egypt, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates.

Explaining the idea behind the project, Metal.Rocks founder Patrick Walch said:

“At a time when most music and video consumption happens entirely on demand, and traditional music television channels like MTV have largely lost their relevance, we wanted to create something completely new and fill the gap in the market. We combined two worlds that rarely meet this closely anymore: television and music.”

Beyond a carefully curated selection of music videos, Metal.Rocks also offers live concerts, documentaries, editorial content, and plans to introduce artist interviews and exclusive original programming in the near future. Covering everything from legendary classics to today’s rising acts, the channel is dedicated entirely to the world of rock and metal.
