Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum alternative metal outfit In This Moment have announced their ninth studio album, Witch, set for release on August 28 via Better Noise Music. The album marks the band’s first full-length release with the label.
Alongside the announcement, the band have unveiled their latest single, “Crawl,” accompanied by an official music video. The track delivers everything fans have come to expect from In This Moment, combining crushing riffs, haunting atmospheres, and the unmistakable vocal performance of Maria Brink.
Speaking about the song, Brink explained:
“Crawl is a reckoning. It’s a reminder that those who use their power to hurt others will eventually have to face the consequences of their actions. Those who stand above others may one day find themselves brought to their knees.”
Guitarist and founding member Chris Howorth added that the song also reflects a broader social message:
“The song speaks to how those in positions of power have oppressed the vulnerable throughout history. It’s a raw and direct statement, but also an empowering reminder that injustice can be challenged.”
Described as a celebration of transformation and self-acceptance, Witch promises to blend the band’s trademark theatricality with emotional vulnerability and heavy-hitting alternative metal. The album also features guest appearances from Dayseeker, Kim Dracula, and Kat Von D.
Reflecting on the album’s central theme, Brink said:
“This album is my declaration of inner transformation. It is about embracing every side of yourself and turning pain, adversity, and judgment into strength. To me, a witch is a creative force—someone connected to the world around them who shapes their own reality.”
With Witch, In This Moment continue to evolve their signature sound while delivering a deeply personal and empowering collection of songs, led by the fierce and uncompromising energy of “Crawl.”
