The world’s biggest heavy metal cruise, 70000 Tons of Metal, has revealed the first wave of artists set to sail on its 2027 edition.
Among the first confirmed acts are Arch Enemy, Evergrey, Obscura, Warbringer, Mors Principium Est, Brainstorm, Enforcer, Equilibrium, Thulcandra, and Æther Realm. Legendary guitarist Uli Jon Roth will also join the lineup, celebrating the 50th anniversaries of the Scorpions albums Virgin Killer and In Trance with two special performances.
“We’re delighted he’s joining the party this year,” said founder and CEO Andy Piller, noting that Roth will perform Virgin Killer in full while dedicating a second set primarily to In Trance.
The 2027 voyage will take place January 14–18, sailing from Miami to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas. The event will once again feature 60 metal bands performing across four stages, alongside artist-hosted activities, meet-and-greets, and the festival’s signature immersive fan experience.
