German melodic power metal veterans Mob Rules have released their new compilation album, Stories From The Verdant Vale, via ROAR – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music. Available now digitally and on vinyl, the release takes listeners back into the narrative world established on the band’s acclaimed 2025 album, Rise Of The Ruler.

The material was created during the final stages of the Rise Of The Ruler sessions, when the band began writing additional songs rather than relying on demos or alternative versions for bonus material. The result developed into a collection with an identity of its own—more compact and direct, while retaining Mob Rules’ characteristic combination of melodic power metal, atmospheric depth and storytelling.

Vocalist Klaus Dirks explains how the additional material came together:

“During the final stages of completing the album, we discussed possible bonus material for the earbook edition with the label. We were reluctant to use demo versions or similar material. This motivated us to write a few new songs. We were well aware of what we were getting ourselves into, but we also wanted to challenge ourselves a little.”

Originally conceived partly as exclusive bonus material, the songs are now receiving a standalone vinyl and digital release following strong demand from fans.

While Stories From The Verdant Vale expands upon the concept and narrative of Rise Of The Ruler from another perspective, its individual tracks were designed to stand on their own—making the release both a companion to its predecessor and another distinct chapter in the long-running German band’s catalogue.
