After more than three decades of pushing their own unpredictable path through heavy music, German metal veterans Die Apokalyptischen Reiter have signed with Napalm Records, opening another chapter in the band’s long-running career.
The Thuringian group are already deep into work on their 13th studio album, which is currently expected to arrive in summer 2027. According to the band, the record has been developing for almost two years, shaped by countless hours of writing, experimentation and what they naturally describe as plenty of “Reitermania.”
“A new chapter begins – and we couldn’t be happier,” the band comment. “Countless hours, our lifeblood, sweat, doubts, euphoria – and of course a lot of Reitermania are already a part of it.”
Before completing the final studio sessions, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter will return to the stage for their traditional “Schrei!Nachten” Tour, bringing their post-Christmas celebrations across Germany with Robse and Disillusion.
Napalm Records Senior A&R Sebastian Münch described the group as “one of the most important German metal bands of all time,” adding that the label hopes to support them in reaching even bigger goals.
With a new label, a new album on the horizon and more than 30 years of history behind them, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter aren’t slowing down. As the band puts it: “The journey continues. Louder. Wilder. Reiter.”
