Finnish modern metal outfit Rioghan continue unfolding the narrative behind their upcoming Frozen EP with the release of “Chapter IV: 520”, accompanied by a visually striking music video created in collaboration with Aarni Visuals. Blending modern metal, dark pop atmospheres and progressive hooks, the band once again demonstrate the distinctive sonic identity that has placed them among Finland’s most intriguing rising acts.

The Frozen EP forms a single, cohesive composition built around a continuous narrative inspired by poems written by vocalist Rioghan Darcy. The story began with the band’s haunting reinterpretation of Madonna’s Frozen and continues to evolve with each new chapter.

The newly released “520” draws its title from internet slang meaning “I Love You.” Within the EP’s storyline, the track marks a pivotal moment where the once-frozen heart finally dares to open again. Musically, the song stands as one of the most instantly memorable moments of the upcoming release.

Like the previous chapters, “520” arrives with a beautifully crafted music video, continuing the visual narrative that accompanies the entire EP.

Rioghan will release the full Frozen EP on April 10, featuring five interconnected tracks:

  1. Frozen
  2. Moment
  3. Teardrop
  4. 520
  5. Sky

The EP was recorded and mixed by guitarist Teemu Liekkala, while mastering duties were handled by Robin Schmidt, a Grammy-nominated engineer known for his work across the global rock and metal scene.

For collectors, the band will also issue an extremely limited 25-copy vinyl edition pressed on blue & white marble vinyl. Each of the five cover variants will be limited to just five copies and include exclusive extras such as a necklace, a signed poster, and handwritten lyrics.

Rioghan’s momentum continues on stage as well. The band will appear as support for internationally acclaimed artist grandson at Helsinki’s Kulttuuritalo on March 9 before embarking on several Finnish shows alongside I Am Your God. The EP release will be celebrated with a special show in Tampere on the day of release.

We have a really exciting spring ahead of us. With brand-new songs in hand we’re hitting the road and sharing stages with some incredible artists. Opening for grandson at the legendary Kulttuuritalo is a perfect way to start, and we’re also looking forward to performing at the first-ever Ankea Festival. The lineup is so great that we’d probably be there even if we weren’t playing,” says guitarist Teemu Liekkala.
