Swedish gothic rock and metal outfit Scheitan have released their new album, Wine For a Tormented Soul, out now via The Circle Music. Alongside the album, the band have unveiled a music video for the opening track, “A Kiss of Death,”setting the tone for a record steeped in reflection, loss, and quiet resilience.

Spanning eight tracks, “Wine For a Tormented Soul” brings together previously released singles such as “Carry Me Home,” “Heaven Tonight,” and “Love n Death,” now presented in a wider emotional arc. Heard as a complete work, the album unfolds less like a collection of songs and more like a companion for darker hours — deliberate, unhurried, and deeply personal.

Band founder Pierre Törnkvist describes the album’s title as a reflection of what music can become when life fractures. Written in the shadow of personal loss, including the passing of close friends and family, the record treats music not as escape, but as refuge. Vinyl plays a central role in that vision, with Törnkvist emphasizing the importance of experiencing the album in a physical, tangible form.

Musically, Scheitan balance gothic melancholy with restraint, letting atmosphere and melody carry the weight rather than excess. “A Kiss of Death” opens the album like a slow exhale — somber, cinematic, and unafraid to linger — inviting the listener inward rather than demanding attention.
