Swedish melodic death metal outfit Skymning have announced the re-issue of their 1999 debut ‘Stormchoirs‘, set for release on vinyl for the first time on April 10, 2026 via Hammerheart Records.

Originally released through Invasion Records, ‘Stormchoirs‘ stood apart by leaning heavily into melody—power metal–styled songwriting layered with harsh, almost blackened vocals. From ‘Sweeping the World‘ onward, the album balances speed, aggression, and sweeping harmonies with confidence well beyond a typical debut.

Sharp, memorable solos, fluid riffing, and natural tempo shifts give the record its lasting strength. Rarely does a debut fuse melody and heaviness this convincingly. With this re-issue, ‘Stormchoirs‘ finally receives the attention it has long deserved—a small but significant gem reclaimed from metal’s past.
