After five years of silence, Melbourne vintage heavy rockers Devil Electric return with ‘Tahlia‘, their third studio album and most emotionally charged release to date. Shaped by themes of fracture, survival, and relationships under strain, the record feels uncannily aligned with the years that followed its creation, adding weight and resonance to every note.

The album opens with its title track and lead single ‘Tahlia, a riff-driven statement that reconnects with the band’s core sound. Moving from collapse toward redemption, the song dances between vintage doom metal and modern heavy rock, guided by a Latin maxim—that which nourishes me, destroys me. Energetic verses, chanting choruses, and moody riffs leave a lingering, unsettled pull.

Frontwoman Pierina O’Brien describes the track as the essence of Devil Electric: epic in scope, sweeping in melody, and demanding the full range of her voice. Inspired by the goddess Tahlia, the song sets the album’s emotional framework: powerful and painful, yet edged with a dark, knowing humor.

Serving as both thematic anchor and confident reintroduction, “Tahlia” signals a band returning with purpose: embracing power, atmosphere, and attitude in a sound that refuses to be ignored. The single is available on all streaming platforms from Friday, February 13.
