Mongolian folk metal phenomenon The HU have announced their third full-length album HUN, set for release on July 24 via Better Noise Music. Alongside the announcement, the band have unveiled the new single Lost Soul, featuring Jonny Hawkins of Nothing More.
Driven by pounding percussion, massive grooves and the band’s unmistakable throat singing, Lost Soul blends Mongolian tradition with modern heavy rock energy. Hawkins’ English-language vocals intertwine naturally with The HU’s signature sound, creating a track built around resilience, identity and perseverance.
“Hunnu Rock transcends cultural boundaries, and in that spirit we created Lost Soul together with Jonny Hawkins,” frontman Galaa explains. “We want to remind people not to lose themselves in life, to stay true to their values and face challenges with courage.”
Hawkins describes the collaboration as a unique experience:
“I’m really excited to work with a band that approaches music with as much passion as The HU. This is something completely different from anything I’ve done before.”
The upcoming HUN album will feature 11 tracks inspired by Mongolian mythology, legends and cultural heritage, while continuing to expand the band’s globally successful “Hunnu Rock” sound.
“We took our time to do this properly,” the band says. “Now we’re focused on building a completely new live show with bigger production and even more elements from our culture.”
The album arrives during another massive touring cycle for the band. The HU kicked off their North American tour today alongside Apocalyptica and The Rasmus, with a European tour planned for the autumn together with Skáld.
Finnish audiences last saw the band at Ilosaarirock after previously selling out both Kulttuuritalo and Pakkahuonefollowing their breakthrough appearance at Tuska Festival in 2023.
