Swedish heavy metal force Sarcator have released “The Ones We Follow,” the title track and first single from their upcoming fourth studio album of the same name. Accompanied by a new performance video directed by F/53 Films, the release also marks the launch of the album’s pre-orders.

Over the past few years, Sarcator have established themselves as one of Scandinavia’s most promising young heavy bands, earning nominations for Sweden’s P3 Guld and Grammis Awards while sharing the stage with acts such as Hellripper1349, and Midnight. With The Ones We Follow, however, the band believe they have truly found their artistic identity.

Rather than adhering to genre boundaries, Sarcator’s songwriting is guided by a simple philosophy: doing what best serves each song. The result is a distinctive blend of punk energy, gothic atmosphere, classic heavy metal, dark rock, and extreme metal—a sound the band describe as “death’s rock.”

Commenting on the new single, guitarist and vocalist Mateo Tervonen said:

“Choosing the first single can be a hard task. The approach here was not to choose the song that summarizes the album, but rather to give you a short and sweet appetizer in a primal, punk-fueled fashion. ‘The Ones We Follow’ is a statement song that represents the creative restlessness of this band and the instinctual impulses you can either tune into or ignore. Let’s face it; nothing can go wrong with a song whose working title was ‘The Psychobilly Song.’ Hope you enjoy!”

Serving as an energetic introduction rather than a summary of the album, “The Ones We Follow” showcases Sarcator’s evolving sound and creative confidence. With sharper songwriting, a stronger artistic vision, and a more immersive aesthetic, the upcoming album promises to mark a defining new chapter for the Swedish band.
