French neofolk ritualists SKÁLD have unveiled “Himinbjǫrg,” the second single from their upcoming album Ørlǫg, due out September 25, 2026 via Napalm Records.

Named after the celestial stronghold of Heimdall, guardian of the rainbow bridge Bifröst, the track journeys to the edge of Asgard with pounding drums, ritualistic atmosphere, and a sense of ancient warning. Rather than simply retelling mythology, SKÁLD use the song as a reflection on judgement, choice, and the paths that shape our destiny.

The band explains:

“‘Himinbjǫrg’ invites us to step onto the threshold, to the gateway at the edge of the sky, to face the guardian’s gaze—are we ready to be judged as we reach the end of the bridge?”

That question sits at the heart of Ørlǫg. In Norse thought, Ørlǫg refers to the web of circumstances shaped by birth, past actions, and the choices we continue to make. Across ten new songs, SKÁLD explore that tension between fate and personal responsibility.
