Finnish melodic death metal outfit Nemecic have unleashed their new single “Mysterion,” the second glimpse into their upcoming EP, due later this year.

Following summer single “The Chalice of Rot,” the Jyväskylä-based band head significantly deeper into darkness. With no clean vocals and an uncompromising atmosphere, Nemecic describe “Mysterion” as possibly the heaviest song they have ever written.

“The lyrics deal with accepting death – that moment when the sea of the dead rises, washes over your toes, and its mystery finally begins to reveal itself.”

Intricate drumming and a striking mid-song guitar harmony between Rajakallio and Salonen add further layers to the track, while the accompanying lyric video was created by drummer Niko Anttila, who is also responsible for the band’s release artwork.

With “Mysterion,” Nemecic reveal another extreme of their sound—and suggest their forthcoming EP may be one of their most varied releases yet.
