Swedish power metal force TUNGSTEN are preparing to release their fifth studio album, Ashes, on October 9 via Perception.

The new record follows 2024’s The Grand Inferno and continues a remarkably productive run that began with debut album We Will Rise in 2019, followed by Tundra and Bliss. Written between the band’s touring commitments throughout 2025, Ashes was recorded later that year as TUNGSTEN set out to create a powerful next chapter.

Formed in 2016 by drummer Anders Johansson alongside his sons Nick and Karl Johansson, and completed by vocalist Mike Andersson, TUNGSTEN have steadily built their reputation both in the studio and on stage. The band have toured with acts including Bloodbound, Firewind, Sonata Arctica and All For Metal, while also appearing at festivals across Europe.

With Ashes, TUNGSTEN continue to build on their modern power metal identity, combining heavy foundations with big melodies and anthemic choruses.

Five albums into their journey, TUNGSTEN show no signs of slowing down—and Ashes is ready to fuel the next chapter.
