American modern rock powerhouse Bad Wolves have entered a new chapter with the release of their latest single, “Paint It Red,” introducing Killboy (Sara Skinner) as the band’s new vocalist. Released via Better Noise Music, the track arrives alongside an official music video showcasing the band’s refreshed visual identity.

Speaking about the search for a new frontperson, founding drummer John Boecklin said:

“When we started looking for a new singer for Bad Wolves, we weren’t looking for someone to simply fill a spot—we were looking for someone who could help take the band into its next chapter. The first time I heard Sara sing, I immediately knew there was something special about her. Her voice, charisma, and versatility open doors for us creatively that we haven’t had before. She’s not here to recreate the past—she’s here to help build the future of Bad Wolves.”

According to Killboy, Paint It Red is about finding the courage to let go and start over.

Paint It Red is about not being afraid to tear everything down and rebuild—even if you have to do it over and over again. If you want to live life on your own terms and follow your heart, you have to be willing to let go of the things that no longer feel right. Sometimes growth means leaving the old behind so you can build something better.”

Boecklin also explained that the song’s title serves as a metaphor for taking ownership of your own choices.

“It’s about those moments when you stop waiting for other people’s approval and start making your own decisions—regardless of the consequences. Even if you end up making the wrong choice, at least it was yours. Sometimes it’s time to tear down the old, create a little chaos, and take your life back. There’s something incredibly freeing about that.”
