Finnish melodic death metal force Brymir have released “Tempestbound,” the second single from their upcoming album What We Leave Behind, arriving October 2, 2026 via Napalm Records.

Driven by rapid-fire riffs and the band’s trademark epic intensity, “Tempestbound” channels the darker themes at the heart of the new album. Wrapped in mythological imagery, the track reflects on humanity’s tendency to turn technological progress into increasingly destructive forms of warfare rather than using it to move forward.

“Mankind is supposed to be starbound, yet here we are fighting over the same old stupid stuff,” Brymir explain. “Instead of reaching the stars, instead of being starbound, we remain ‘Tempestbound.’”

With its combination of speed, aggression and a bleak reflection on human progress, “Tempestbound” offers another powerful glimpse into what Brymir describe as their darkest album to date.
