Toronto-based melodic death and groove metal band SELIAS have unveiled their new single “Bastard,” accompanied by an official music video and offering another glimpse into the band’s evolving heavier sound.
Driven by aggressive riffs, groove-heavy rhythms and powerful vocals, “Bastard” dives into the aftermath of psychological trauma. Anger, despair and emotional collapse collide as the song explores the struggle to reclaim an identity buried beneath the damage left behind.

Formed in 2021, SELIAS have steadily developed their blend of melody and modern heaviness through debut album HEADSHOT and 2025 follow-up KILLKARMA, which reached No. 17 on the Metal Contraband radio charts.
The band are now preparing for their third album, Nine Lives, which promises to push SELIAS into heavier territory while retaining the melodic and groove-driven foundations of their sound.
