Finnish alternative metal outfit Volucrine have returned with new music, unveiling “Golem”, the first single from their upcoming fifth full-length album. The yet-untitled record will be released later this year via Inverse Records, marking the band’s next chapter after steadily building their reputation across the modern metal landscape.

Known for pushing the boundaries of alternative and modern metal, the Kouvola-based band continue refining their distinctive sound on the forthcoming album. According to the band, the new material expands their genre-blending approach while grounding the songs in deeply personal lyrical themes.

The first taste of the album arrives with “Golem,” a powerful track driven by crushing riffs, brutal growls, and melodic elements subtly influenced by folk music. The single also arrives with an accompanying music video created in collaboration with filmmaker Antti Heikkilä.

Explaining the meaning behind the song, vocalist Jupe Velin shares: “Golemin sanoitukset on suunnattu niille, keiltä elämä tuntuu joskus vievän enemmän kuin se antaa. Heitä haluaisin muistuttaa, että näköalattomassa tyhjyydessä suunnistaminen vaatii sisua ja luonteenlujuutta. Sieltäkin nähkääs saattaa löytyä uutta elämää.”

Volucrine’s previous album Etna (2024) received positive international attention and was followed by an active touring schedule across Finland. With Golem now released, the band is setting its sights on further singles in the coming months before unveiling the full album in autumn.

Fans can also catch Volucrine live soon, as the band takes the stage at Varjobaari in Tampere on March 20, continuing to bring their intense and emotionally charged sound to audiences across the country.
