Modern metal heavyweights Five Finger Death Punch have officially announced that their long-awaited tenth studio album will arrive later this year via Better Noise Music. While the exact release date remains under wraps, the band has already unleashed the album’s first single, Eye Of The Storm, accompanied by a lyric video.

According to guitarist Zoltan Bathory, the upcoming record marks a return to the band’s heavier roots while also pushing into entirely new territory.

“The new material is clearly heavier than anything we’ve done in years,” Bathory says. “We had three years to work on this album properly and really refine it. At first we had nearly 30 songs, and eventually narrowed it down to 14 or 15. For a moment, we even considered making it a double album.”

The release also coincides with two major milestones for the band: their tenth studio album and the celebration of their 20th anniversary.

“We realized we had to deliver something big,” Bathory continues. “What excites me most is hearing that rawness and aggression from the early days coming back into the music, while at the same time exploring completely new directions. I was involved in writing all the early records, and this doesn’t feel nostalgic — it feels like returning to where everything started.”

Alongside the new music, Five Finger Death Punch are preparing for a massive anniversary world tour. The first leg kicks off across North America this summer with support from Cody Jinks and Eva Under Fire. After that, the band heads to Europe and the UK alongside Lamb of God and Bleed From Within.

The European run will conclude in Finland at Veikkaus Arena on February 22. Demand has already proven intense, as tickets for the Helsinki show sold out just days after going on sale.
