Australian heavy act Future Static have announced their second album, Ornaments & Memories, set for release on November 6 via Wild Thing Records. Alongside the announcement, the band have unveiled the album’s title track.

Following their debut Liminality, the new record finds Future Static entering darker and more philosophical territory. Where its predecessor was shaped by feelings of stagnation, Ornaments & Memories explores what happens when life begins moving again—bringing growth, change, love, conflict and an increasingly complex emotional landscape with it.

“I wanted this album to display growth not just as a vocalist and songwriter but also as a human being,”explains vocalist Amariah Cook, describing the record as a journey towards “setting yourself up for a life worth living.”

Musically, that evolution translates into an increasingly adventurous approach to heaviness. Bouncing riffs and crushing breakdowns collide with expressive guitar leads, densely layered vocals and frantic drums, while the band push further into the genre-bending tendencies at the heart of their sound.

Inspired by the emotional highs and lows of living in an increasingly fast-moving world, Ornaments & Memories captures Future Static at a point of transformation—less concerned with standing still and more interested in everything that comes with learning how to move forward.
