Symphonic metal veterans Kamelot have released “Ashen World,” the first single from their upcoming album Dark Asylum, due out on August 28, 2026, via Napalm Records.
The cinematic new track offers fans their first glimpse into the mysterious world of RavenHill Asylum, combining the band’s signature orchestral arrangements, soaring melodies, and powerful choruses with fresh musical textures.
Speaking about the single, guitarist Thomas Youngblood said:
“‘Ashen World’ captures that moment of standing at the crossroads between darkness and hope, where the journey forward begins. It’s classic KAMELOT at its core, while opening new doors into the world of Dark Asylum.”
Vocalist Tommy Karevik once again showcases his impressive range, moving effortlessly between haunting verses and soaring choruses. The song also features guest vocals from Ignacia Fernández, frontwoman of Decessus and the reigning Miss Chile, whose ethereal performance further enhances the track’s dark atmosphere.
Reflecting on the song’s deeper meaning, Karevik added:
“It’s a deep dive into the topography of the human mind, exploring its valleys, peaks, and the void in between. It’s about breaking free from the limiting beliefs that hold us captive and creating a new reality that allows us to expand and realize our full potential.“
