Finnish melodic death metal band Whispered have announced their long-awaited fourth studio album, “Honorbound“, set for release on September 11, 2026. Marking the band’s first full-length release since Metsutan (2016), the album arrives after nearly a decade of writing, recording, and refining.

The campaign began earlier this year with the release of “Ikikaere,” which quickly climbed into YouTube’s Top 20 Trending Music Videos in Finland. Now, Whispered have unveiled the album’s final single, “Battlecry,” accompanied by a lyric video featuring footage from the band’s recent European tour.

Reflecting on the lengthy creative process, the band said:

“After the previous album, we had a strong feeling that we wanted to take everything into our own hands and learn how to do this entirely on our own terms. We never gave up. Even when the process felt endless at times, we kept pushing the album forward with determination until it was finally finished.”

Describing the new single, the band added:

‘Battlecry’ was born from the need to create something that drives forward with a steady and heavy pulse while capturing many aspects of what Whispered is all about. As the name suggests, the song is about going into battle with everything you’ve got, even when the odds aren’t in your favour. Steel, honour, and no prisoners—the battle hymn of the Shogunate!

Known for combining melodic death metal with Japanese musical influences and storytelling, Whispered return with “Honorbound” ready to open a new chapter after one of the longest gaps between albums in the band’s history.
