London technical death metal band Perpetual Paradox have announced their new EP, May Misery Befall You, alongside the release of its blistering lead single, “Smell the Rot.”

The five-track EP sees the band return to a more riff-driven approach, combining technical death metal, blistering blast beats, soaring melodies, and razor-sharp songwriting. According to the band, the new material is more focused than their 2025 full-length Deathwish, putting memorable riffs and song structure at the forefront.

Describing “Smell the Rot,” the band explained:

“This song is basically about humanity embracing its own collapse. The idea is that we’re already too far gone and you can almost smell the decay in the air before everything fully falls apart.“

Influenced by The Black Dahlia Murder, the track pairs frantic technicality with themes of societal decay, corruption, and humanity’s growing disconnection, offering a brutal first taste of May Misery Befall You.
