Finnish melodic metal band Segmentia have released “Nuclear Sun,” the second single from their forthcoming debut album, offering a cinematic tribute to the power metal sound that shaped the early 2000s.

Blending delicate guitar melodies with soaring arrangements, the track explores the contrast between hope and despair while reflecting on humanity’s relationship with nature and the uncertain state of the world.

Speaking about the song, songwriter Jere Luokkamäki said:

“For me as a composer, ‘Nuclear Sun’ was the moment I stopped being cautious about my power metal background. The song was inspired by the wintry surroundings of Kajaani and thoughts about how humanity often seems determined to bring disaster upon itself.”

Accompanying the release is the band’s first-ever performance video, serving as the second chapter of an audiovisual trilogy. Produced by ToJuSa Media, the video continues the visual narrative established with the previous single “Before the Dawn,” placing Segmentia once again against the atmospheric backdrop of Southern Ostrobothnia.

“Nuclear Sun” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
