Finnish Thrash ’n’ Roll outfit MADRED have released their new album Running Out Of Problems, following a run of singles that have been building momentum throughout the spring.
Alongside the album, the band have unveiled a music video for “Ways of the Night”, offering an appropriately old-school glimpse into life on the road. The footage was captured during MADRED’s 2025 Baltic and Polish run, later dubbed the “Long Time No Let’s Go Tour,” using an older video camera deliberately chosen for its rough-around-the-edges quality.
According to Oskari “Oki” Hurskainen, the approach turned out to fit the song naturally, especially as parts of its lyrics were inspired by touring itself.
“Somehow it felt like the video would fit ‘Ways of the Night’, since the lyrics were partly born from that tour and touring in general.”
Built around guitarist Harri Tikka’s riffs, the track quickly became a band favourite during rehearsals, while its lyrics draw directly from the less glamorous realities of life on tour. Bassist Aapo Peuhkuri sums up one particular moment behind the song:
“We were in the van, needing to piss, tired as hell and rushing to the next venue. That kind of rock reality hit us right in the face.”
With Running Out Of Problems now out, MADRED channel that reality into their own unapologetic mixture of thrash, rock ’n’ roll and good-humoured chaos—with “Ways of the Night” capturing exactly what happens between the shows when the polished image of touring disappears.
