Australian metalcore outfit FUTURE STATIC have unveiled their new single “Swing,” taken from upcoming second album Ornaments & Memories, arriving November 6 via Wild Thing Records.

Driven by relentless riffs and crushing breakdowns, “Swing” channels the band’s frustration with political shifts that they see as threatening the rights of women, minorities and other marginalized communities. The song was initially inspired by the US Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, before growing into a broader response to similar political developments around the world.

“‘Swing’ is for anyone feeling targeted and unsupported by the unjust systems of the world,” says bassist Kira Neil. “We see you, we’re with you and we’re angry as hell.”

The track offers another glimpse into the darker and more philosophical direction of Ornaments & Memories. Following 2023 debut Liminality, the new album explores conflict, growth, change and love against the backdrop of an increasingly fast-moving world.

Having already shared stages with acts including BABYMETAL, Electric Callboy, Jinjer, Enter Shikari and Lacuna Coil, FUTURE STATIC are now turning that growing momentum—and plenty of frustration—into their next chapter.
