Italian epic power metal outfit Embrace of Souls have unveiled a new official live video for “The Plague,” taken from their latest studio album, “The Battle Of The Dead,” released on May 22, 2026, via Rockshots Records.
Filmed and edited by Simone “Morksar” D’Addazio, the video captures the band’s energetic live performance, bringing the theatrical atmosphere of their fantasy-inspired music to the stage. The performance also features Simone Fornasinion keyboards.
As the third track on “The Battle Of The Dead”, “The Plague” plays an important role in the album’s overarching narrative. Set in a medieval world divided into rival kingdoms, the story follows the spread of a mysterious plague that corrupts people’s souls, gradually driving the continent towards a devastating confrontation between the living and the dead.
Drawing inspiration from the classic heavy and power metal sounds of the 1980s and 1990s, alongside the epic and symphonic traditions of the early 2000s, Embrace of Souls combine powerful melodies, theatrical arrangements and fantasy storytelling.
A defining element of the band’s sound is the contrast between Giacomo Rossi’s vocals and the operatic voice of Martina Mazzeo, creating a dramatic interplay that complements the album’s dark narrative.
“The Battle Of The Dead” was mixed and mastered by Alessio Garavello at Rogue Studios in London and features a special guest appearance from Morby of Domine on the track “The War.”
Embrace of Souls will return to the stage on October 24, 2026, performing alongside Heavenfall at Dedolor for the next Rockshots Night.
