There’s a certain weight to Bloody Falls—not just in sound, but in intent. With their new single “Mother, Your Son Is Bleeding,” the Finnish-based groove metal act step into deeply human territory, where anger, pain, and reality refuse to be softened.

The track arrives alongside a music video and sets the tone for the band’s upcoming fourth album, IV, due June 5. Shaped sonically by producer Max Morton (known for his work with Jinjer), the new material sharpens Bloody Falls’ already heavy edge into something more focused—and more personal.

At its core, the single is built from real stories. Not one life, but many. Fragments of conversations, experiences, and memories gathered over time.

“This song is based on real life,” says frontman Stavros Mathios. “It’s about frustration and anger. Over the years you hear a lot of stories—some beautiful, some devastating. This one reflects neglect, violence, and broken families. It’s not about one person, but a collage of what we’ve witnessed.”

There’s no attempt to dress that up. The band’s blend of groove-driven heaviness, laced with death and black metal influences, carries the story forward with a kind of blunt honesty. The music doesn’t just support the narrative—it amplifies it.

Formed when Greek-born Mathios moved to Finland to chase the idea of building something from nothing, Bloody Falls have steadily grown into one of the country’s more notable rising names in heavy music. Their partnership with Art Gates Records has already expanded into live operations, and the band’s presence has begun to stretch beyond Finland.

And that momentum isn’t slowing down. With IV on the horizon, the band promises their strongest material to date—music that leans into discomfort rather than avoiding it.

Bloody Falls will take the new material to the stage this spring:

  • May 8 – Semifinal, Helsinki (with Torchia)
  • May 9 – Nirvana, Turku (with Torchia, Einvigi)
  • June 13 – Bar Kotelo, Tampere (with Torchia, Numento)
