German symphonic metal powerhouse XANDRIA are set to release their eighth studio album, Eclipse, on August 7, 2026, via Napalm Records. Described as the band’s most cinematic and diverse work to date, the eleven-track album blends classic heavy metal, modern riffs, Celtic folk influences, orchestral arrangements, and atmospheric rock into an ambitious new chapter.

Lyrically, Eclipse marks XANDRIA’s most direct release yet. Band mastermind Marco Heubaum explains that the album reflects on the challenges facing modern society, centring on themes of reason, empathy, democracy, and resilience.

“This time, the message is impossible to ignore, and that’s the point. We want to show those standing up for the values that made civilisational progress possible—reason, empathy, democracy, pluralism, and an open society—that they are not alone.”

The album also showcases what the band describes as vocalist Ambre Vourvahis’ most versatile performance to date, with the title track alone featuring everything from delicate melodies and powerful rock vocals to growls and operatic passages.

Adding to the cinematic scope, Eclipse features guest appearances from Ally Storch (Subway to Sally), Celtic musician McAlbi, and Hollywood pianist Richard Z. Wang, while the orchestral arrangements were created by film composers Lukas Geppert and Ishaan Tyagi, together with the Sofia Session Orchestra & Choir.
