German atmospheric black metal duo Urisk will release their new album “CALL” on October 2, 2026 via Vendetta Records, exploring a world where wilderness, culture and ancient connections to the land are slowly disappearing.

Formed in Bonn in 2023 by Benedikt Brixius and Marleen Bügener, Urisk combine traditional black metal with progressive structures and atmospheric passages. On “CALL”, that sound becomes the backdrop for themes of ecological destruction, cultural loss and fading mythology, with a particular focus on Scotland and Gaelic heritage.

The album’s title carries a deliberate double meaning. In Scottish Gaelic, call means “loss,” while in English it becomes a call to remember what has been forgotten, displaced or erased. Across seven tracks, disappearing wildlife, damaged seas and forests, lost languages and broken traditions become interconnected parts of the same story.

Musically, “CALL” moves between grief, anger and traces of hope, unfolding through long atmospheric compositions, harsh vocals, layered guitars and moments rooted in folk darkness. The album also expands Urisk’s production while preserving the raw character of their earlier DIY work.

Most of the instruments and vocals were recorded in the band’s own home studio, with drums recorded separately at Liquid Aether Studios, allowing Urisk to build a larger and more detailed sound without abandoning their underground foundations.

With “CALL”, Urisk aren’t simply mourning what has already disappeared. They are asking what might still be remembered—and perhaps what can still return.
