Chicago metal band Repentance have released a deeply personal new video for “Fade Into Silence,” dedicating the song to their late founding member Shaun Glass, who passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2026.

“Fade Into Silence” appears on the band’s upcoming third studio album, “Retaliate,” and carries particular significance as the song was written by Glass himself. Following his passing, Repentance postponed the album’s originally planned summer release, with “Retaliate” now set to arrive on November 27.

Vocalist Adam Gilley explains that choosing the track as the band’s next single felt like the most meaningful way to honor their friend and bandmate.

“Of all the songs on the record, ‘Fade Into Silence’ just felt like the perfect song to honor him—especially because it was a song that Shaun himself wrote.”

Glass was not only Repentance’s founding member but a central force in shaping the band’s identity. His passing has inevitably transformed the meaning of the song, turning something he helped create into a lasting reminder of his contribution to the band.

“Every note is a reminder of Shaun, his creativity, his passion, and everything he gave to this band,” Gilley says. “His music, his influence, and his memory will always be a part of us.”

With “Fade Into Silence”, Repentance aren’t simply releasing another song from “Retaliate”. They are preserving a piece of their brother and friend’s legacy through the music he left behind.
