Italian symphonic power metal outfit Temperance have released their fourth single, “The Fool,” offering one final glimpse into their new studio album, “Arcani,” released on October 16 via Napalm Records.

Serving as the album’s opening track, “The Fool” brings together the elements that have become synonymous with Temperance’s sound: soaring melodies, powerful vocal harmonies, neoclassical influences and cinematic symphonic arrangements.

The song begins with an atmospheric instrumental introduction before Kristin Starkey takes centre stage with a versatile vocal performance. As the band’s male vocalists join her, the composition gradually unfolds into a rich interplay of voices, culminating in epic choruses and uplifting melodies.

Interestingly, the creative process behind “The Fool” began with its lyrics rather than its music. Marco Pastorino reveals that Starkey’s words became the foundation for the entire composition.

“I received these lyrics from Kristin, and built the entire song around them. The perfect opening track for this new full-length album, it blends many of the signature elements that define Temperance: from epic choruses and soaring guitar melodies to a neoclassical acoustic break.”

As one of the longest compositions on “Arcani”, the track introduces listeners to another chapter in the band’s evolving musical universe, combining theatrical storytelling with their characteristic blend of symphonic and power metal.

The release also arrives ahead of an extensive European tour, which will see Temperance joining Kamelot and Exit Eden on the road beginning October 31.

With “Arcani” now available and a series of European performances approaching, Temperance are bringing their ambitious symphonic sound from the studio to the stage.
