Swiss ethereal metal outfit ILLUMISHADE continue expanding the sonic landscape of their upcoming era with the release of “Heatwave,” an intense new single featuring Adrienne Cowan of Seven Spires. Following the melancholic groove of “Paralyzed,” the band now takes a bold step into darker territory, blending ominous electronic textures, fractured guitar work, and crushing modern metal into one of their most adventurous tracks to date.

From its unsettling opening moments, “Heatwave” offers little comfort. A haunting introduction gradually gives way to earth-shaking riffs and suffocating atmosphere as Fabienne Erni’s soaring vocals paint a vision of impending collapse. Refusing traditional song structures, the track constantly evolves, twisting through glitch-infused guitar passages and mounting tension before briefly revealing a fragile moment of calm with the line, “Our spirits reborn deep in a heatwave.” That brief respite quickly disappears as the song erupts once again.

The collaboration reaches its peak with Adrienne Cowan’s devastating guest appearance. Her ferocious growls collide with Erni’s crystal-clear melodies, transforming the song’s themes of guilt, false hope, and destruction into something both cinematic and deeply visceral.

“Heatwave” is available now on all major streaming platforms, accompanied by an official music video that further amplifies the song’s apocalyptic atmosphere.

ILLUMISHADE will also bring their latest material to European audiences later this year with a string of live performances, including appearances alongside Sirenia and a stop at the Brainstorm Festival in the Netherlands.
