Belgian death metallers CARNATION have unveiled “Labyrinth of Silence,” the third single from their upcoming studio album Symphony In Flesh, arriving October 16.

Showing a more hypnotic and atmospheric side of the band, the track begins with a haunting clean introduction before descending into crushing death metal. Dreamlike lead guitars, mid-tempo riffs and grooving drums gradually build an immersive sense of tension.

“There’s a strong sense of atmosphere throughout the track,” the band explains. “It gives the song a sense of space and flow, allowing it to unfold naturally and take the listener on a journey far away from reality.”

Behind that atmosphere lies a deeply personal subject. “Labyrinth of Silence” explores the frustration of being unable to express yourself and feeling trapped inside your own mind, with CARNATION describing the writing process as a cathartic confrontation with inner struggles and their mental and physical consequences.

Accompanied by a new music video, “Labyrinth of Silence” offers another side of Symphony In Flesh—one where CARNATION’s brutality becomes something darker, slower and increasingly psychological.
